# Moving from the previous Appfox app

> Move your subscriptions from the retired Appfox Subscriptions app to the new one

The previous Appfox Subscriptions app has been retired and replaced by a new app. We move your subscriptions, subscription plans, and your customers' saved payment methods across for you. Your customers don't need to do anything, and nobody re-enters card details.

  Keep the previous app installed until we email you that the move is complete. The previous app keeps billing your subscribers until then. Shopify cancels an app's subscriptions 48 hours after the app is uninstalled, so removing it early interrupts your customers' subscriptions.

## Move your store

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install the new app">
    In the previous app, click **Install the new app** on the home page. You can also install [Appfox Subscriptions](https://apps.shopify.com/appfox-new) from the Shopify App Store.

  <Step title="Wait for your store's turn">
    Stores are moved in stages. Until yours is moved, the new app's home page shows **Your subscriptions will be moved over soon**. You don't need to set anything up in the new app while you wait.

  <Step title="Check progress">
    Click **View details** in the banner on the new app's home page to see how many subscriptions have moved and whether any need attention.

  <Step title="Add the subscription widget to your product page">
    When the new app's home page shows **Subscription migration complete**, click **Add widget to product page**. Your theme editor opens with the **Subscription Widget** block from Appfox Subscriptions ready to add. Click **Save**.

    Uninstalling the previous app removes its widget from your theme, so do this first — otherwise your product page stops offering subscriptions.

    When we email you that the move is complete, open the new app and check that your subscriptions look right and that the new widget shows on your product page. Then uninstall the previous app.

## What moves across

* Active, paused, and failed subscriptions, with their billing and delivery schedules, prices, and discounts
* Subscription plans and the products they apply to
* Your customers' saved payment methods

Once your subscriptions are moved, we remove the previous app's copies of your subscription plans, so shoppers only see the new app's plans. Cancelled and expired subscriptions aren't moved. Past orders stay in your Shopify admin, unchanged. Each moved subscription continues from its next billing date.

## If something needs attention

If the banner shows **Some subscriptions need attention**, keep the previous app installed — those subscriptions are still billed by it.
